Big news: The writers of the excellent musical Freedom Riders and Bayard are writing a new musical about the Disney brothers called Walt and Roy. Taran Gray and Richard Allen both live in Burbank, CA, just a few blocks from Walt Disney Studios, so their inspiration for this show are literally near and dear.
Taran says, “The show itself primarily focuses on the importance of family and what can be (and has been) accomplished when that family is strong. We all have ideas in our mind of who Walt Disney was, but he was only half the story. We believe it's time to tell the full story.”
