Every now and again, a new play arrives on the NYC theater scene and it feels like a real moment. Our Dear Dead Drug Lord, a co-production of Second Stage and WP Theater, is one of those shows. Take the brave and fresh writing about 4 teenage girls navigating life in a pre-Obama 2000s by Alexis Scheer, unflinching direction by Whitney White, and a main cast of 4 terrific young actresses and you’ve got a recipe for a big hit. No wonder, then, that this show has been extended and extended…and extended again!

Special shoutout to Carmen Berkeley, blazing onto the scene with a stunning NYC theater debut that proves she’s a force to be reckoned with in a terrifying performance that will haunt you for a long time after you leave the theater. Meet her in the video below:
