This immersive production of Sweeney Todd was originally staged in London's actual oldest pie shop before transferring to a replica of it on the West End and got rave reviews. The production comes to Off-Broadway in February with the Barrow Street Theater being turned into yet another replica of that famous pie shop, so audience members will get to eat at the worst pie shop in London as the show is being performed around them. The original London stars open the production, with Broadway A-Listers Norm Lewis and Carolee Carmello taking over starting April 11. The majority of the run before they take over is already sold out so you don't really have to decide which cast you want to see, but the good news is that hottie Matt Doyle will be with the production from the beginning.
See a gallery of the show below as well as a video of us tasting the meat pies you can eat before the show at the theater.
Be sure you get tickets NOW. It is already selling out fast and this is going to be a legendary production. Even if this moves to Broadway, you're going to want to see it in as intimate a setting as possible.
