YesBroadway is looking for "young*, scrappy, and hungry" social media and content geniuses and videographers who want to gain experience in the Broadway/NYC theater media space. The positions would involve several hours of work per week and start as unpaid. However, there is substantial opportunity for a paid position in the company soon. Hardworking and smart people who have already been contributing to YesBroadway's growth would certainly be first in line for any paid positions once there is a budget for salaried employees.

YesBroadway is for casual theater fans to find out what fresh and exciting shows to see (vs snoozefests and tourist trap shows), what tickets to get now to avoid being in another situation like they're in now with Hamilton, and get relevant and concise Broadway and NYC theater news. All content is for a wide range of people, from those who might say that they are "not that into theater" all the way up to people who go to see a Broadway show 4-5x/year. Unlike other sites, this is not for superfans or industry insiders.

Social Media and Content geniuses

The ideal person will be available to help kickstart our presence on social media: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and maybe Tumblr and Snapchat...or others, you tell us! You must be good at creating meaningful content for social media that attracts followers, earns likes, and drives traffic. Pay special attention to the audience description above to think about what kinds of content you'd be creating. Our audience might not even know who Sondheim is, much less understand obscure references from Sunday In The Park With George. You'd need to know how to filter your passion for theater and translate it into something tangible that gets more casual theater fans' butts in seats.

NYC (or NYC area) preferred, but not required for the long term.

The position is ideal for film students who want to gain experience filming at press events, interviews with Broadway stars...and a lot of things we haven't even thought of yet. The ideal person would be able to edit and deliver finished photo and video with very quick turnaround times. It would probably be impossible to do this job if you aren't in NYC (or in the NYC area).

Please don't send resumes. Instead, send an intro email to with a little bit about yourself and how you think you can help. Some information that you could include:

*Film students/videographers: please send any samples or reels that show off your work if you have them.

*Content/social media geniuses: please tell me what you like (or don't like) about and YesBroadway social media profiles, including any missed opportunities that you notice. You can also send a summary of a brand's social media presence that you think is awesome and how you could achieve something similar with little, or no, budget. Writing and content samples are preferred, but not required.

Cool! I look forward to hearing from you soon.

*"young" can certainly refer to emotional vs actual age!
