It doesn't get fresher and more relevant than this! Dear Evan Hansen won the 2017 Tony Award® for Best Musical along with its radiant original stars Ben Platt and Rachel Bay Jones. This show is about finding the humanity inside of all of us as we live in an increasingly online world. The music is incredible and the performances are even better. There is a song in Act 2 that involves the entire audience weeping in unison. Bring a literal box of tissues!
Jimmy Award winner (the Tonys for high school theater) Andrew Barth Feldman takes over the role of Evan on January 30, 2019. The superb Taylor Trensch currently plays Evan until then with NYC theater favorite Alex Boniello as Connor. Check out a video of them performing a song from the show below:

Also: a national tour starring Ben Levi Ross as Evan launched in October 2018 at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. The tour will go on to play more than 50 cities over a two-year period, including Los Angeles (Ahmanson Theater), San Francisco (The Curran), Las Vegas (The Smith Center), Chicago (Oriental Theatre), Atlanta (The Fox Theatre), Boston (The Boston Opera House) and many more.
