Coming soon at LaMaMa ETC, which is known for dangerous and groundbreaking experimental theater: The Pill.
This new play has a very cool concept that begins with a real-life story of a mom accidentally ingesting her daughter's antidepressant and, in a panic, asking her anorexic/bulemic daughter how to throw it up. Everyone in the family (including siblings and grandparents!) then wrote about the ridiculous situation from their own perspective. The result? A hilarious new memory play.
A tragic twist: Last July, on the same day LaMaMa confirmed the show's premiere, the daughter from the real life story took her own life. Her suicide note ended with a P/S to her family to finish The Pill. This play promises to make you laugh as hard as it will break your heart.
Runs January 25 - February 4.
