THE PENITENT
The fact that this is David Mamet's new play alone makes it a hot ticket, but throw in two actors from The Wire and you've got us salivating. Chris Bauer and Lawrence Gilliard, Jr played Frank Sobotka and D'Angelo Barksdale, respectively, in The Wire and will star in this world premiere play, starting February 8.
What's it about? From AtlanticTheater.org: "A renowned psychiatrist is asked to testify on behalf of a young patient. When he refuses, his career, ethics and faith are thrown into question."
Mamet is a co-founder of Atlantic Theater Company and, quite simply, needs no introduction. Longtime Artistic Director Neil Pepe directs. There won't be a single ticket left to this show soon, so be warned: get them now!
