Ride The Cyclone is a weird and delightful romp. Think The Nightmare Before Christmas, but with teenage angst and a lot of imagination. The songs in this new musical, imported from Canada via Chicago, are all extremely catchy. This is a unique story and every single one of the 6 performers are exceptional and each shine brilliantly in a solo at some point in the show. Especially terrific are the perfectly cast Tiffany Tatreau and a very hardworking Gus Halper. Alex Wyse changed lives singing "Touch Me" in the 2015 revival of Spring Awakening and brings down the house again in Ride The Cyclone. The megastar to watch out for, though, is Lillian Castillo. Her masterclass of a monologue stops the show even before she belts out a number that would make Broadway stars jealous. The world is going to know her name very soon!
