London: Andrew Scott Hamlet Transferring To West End

By Brookelynn Mason

Broadway and the West End have a pretty solid relationship: We give them Hamilton, they give us (immersive) Sweeney Todd. Even though it's all the way over in London, we are excited about the new 12-week run of Hamlet starring Andrew Scott. Recognize him? He is Moriarty in Sherlock.

What's so special about this production of a Shakespearean classic aside from its fresh modern take on a classic tragedy? Andrew Scott himself. Not only is he a ridiculously good actor, but he ensured the production would be affordable -- it was a condition that the ticket prices did not cause patrons to be "priced out".

Tickets for the off-West End show do not exceed £40, about $50. Great acting and an advocate for accessible theater? YAAASSSSS please! If that wasn't enough...the Off West End production (currently running through April 15) is offering 5 performances FOR FREE for anyone 25 and under.

The show transfers to the Harold Pinter Theatre, starting performances on June 9 and runs until September 2. Londoners: sign up for priority tickets -- they go on sale April 2 and will go FAST!
