Children of a Lesser God won the Tony Award® for Best Play in 1980 and then, a few years later, the movie shot Marlee Matlin to fame. Now, it's back on Broadway in a stunning revival starring a terrific Joshua Jackson (Pacey from Dawson's Creek) and newcomer Lauren Ridloff, blazing onto the scene with a Broadway debut above the title. Joshua plays a speech teacher who falls in love with one of his deaf students, played by Lauren.
Kenny Leon directs this beautifully designed play about a speech teacher who falls in love with his student. Kenny directs this production in a way that is both soothing and unsettling all at once. And you'll love John McGinty and Treshelle Edmond's nuanced supporting performances as classmates.
